Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is seeking sources for a Composite Fixturing and Assembly Table to provide fabrication of large composite wrapped components for a precision fixturing and assembly table need for hold pieces at location while curing to a finished state. The table shall handle up to 2,000 lb load an overall size to a complete canon tube up to 24 ft in length. The table shall be a comfortable height for working on components and the surface shall have details that would allow for bolting down various fixturing components such as vices. The specifications are 1) Table size minimum is 3 ft deep by 24 ft in length. This could be accomplished by joining no more than two 12 foot table assemblies joined end to end. 2) Tabletop surface flatness shall be minimum .004??? over 2 square feet. 3) The table supporting components of such size and weight while still holding the desired tolerances leads to a thick (min. 12 inch) table top incorporating a ???honeycomb??? type core. 4) Table top shall be a 410 stainless faceplate no less than .19??? in thickness. 5) The entire tip surface of the table shall ha a grid of ?????-20 tapped holes on 1??? centers. 6) The table top(s) shall be supported by a set of eight rigid support legs giving the whole table a finished height of 30??? from floor to table top surface.
