- REQUEST FOR SAMPLES: The Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center is requesting samples for a proposed procurement for Vials and Caps as described below. Samples must meet the following criteria: Amber vial, plastic, round, minimum 4-1/8? circumference, minimum 2? high, for use with safety caps (press down and turn) and non-safety snap caps. Vial and caps must meet USP light transmission and moisture tight container requirements. Vial opening instructions to be legibly embossed or permanently marked in contrasting color on cap surface. The sizes are as follows: 7 to 9 dram (25-45cc); safety caps and non-safety caps; 12 to 13 dram (45-50cc); safety caps and non-safety caps; 16 dram (60-65cc); safety caps and non-safety caps; 20 dram (75-85cc); safety caps and non-safety caps; 30 dram (113-120cc); safety caps and non-safety caps; 40 dram (150-165cc); safety caps and non-safety caps; 60 dram (225-240cc); safety caps and non-safety caps. For the Vials referenced the Government is specifying no particular package/case size; therefore, any commercial package size is acceptable. Potential Offerors shall provide the VA with three samples of each item (vials and caps). These samples will be used to check the dimensions, to make certain the vial is compatible with the specifications and VA?s filling machines. These samples will not be returned to the contractor. Please specify if your vials are compatible with any or all of the following machines: ScriptPro, Optifill/QuickScript and Autoscript. The contract items will be distributed through the VA Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. Samples are due to the following address on 11/15/05 by 2:30 p.m. CST. Samples may be sent to: VA National Acquisition Center, Attn: Teresa Hussain, P.O. Box 76, Hines, IL 60141. Street address for overnight shipment is 1st Ave. 1 block north of 22nd Street. The solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of December 13, 2005.
