Description

The work to be performed includes the following items: (1) Completion of a ventilation system including removal of the existing temporary River Outlet Works Tunnel ventilation fan and ducting; installation of a new tubular centrifugal fan and 22-inch diameter ducting; connection of 22-inch diameter ducting to existing 22-inch diameter piping; and installation of associated electrical controls including electrical wiring and controls to the existing stationary intake and exhaust louvers in the River Outlet Works Value House and Tunnel. Furnish and installation of unit heater, NH-1. (2) Removal of the existing 22-inch pipe coupling, approximately 3 linear feet of 22-inch diameter pipe, and the air-vacuum value from the River Outlet Works Bypass Pipe Gate Chamber; installation of a new 150 lb flat-faced blind flange on the downstream side of the existing 24-inch gate valve, complete with all mounting hardware, gaskets and protective coatings; and installation of duct end box and ducting within the River Outlet Works Bypass and Outlet Gate Chambers. Flush and clean the entire length of the 22-inch pipe before installation of ductwork. (3) Installation of a complete video surveillance system including cameras, monitors, digital video recorders, wiring and cable, conduit, power supply, software, mounting hardware, and equipment necessary to make a complete functional system. (4) Removal of all existing lighting fixtures, receptacles and associated raceway from the River Outlet Works Tunnel and Gate Chamber; and installation of new rigid metal conduit, lighting fixtures and other electrical features. (5) Installation of new special purpose welding receptacles, duplex receptacles, transformer load center, rigid metal conduit and wiring in the River Outlet Works Gate Chamber, Tunnel and Valve House. (6) Installation of a new Intercom Communications system in the Powerplant, River Outlet Works Tunnel, Value House and Gate Chamber. (7) Removal of the existing River Outlet Works Valve House sump pump and associated controls and piping and installation of new sump pumps and sump pump control equipment. (8) Installation of Guard Gate limit switches. The installation shall be complete with new rigid metal conduit, wire, limit switches, and all miscellaneous mounting hardware to monitor Guard Gate position. Note - The Tiber Dam River Outlet Works Tunnel is classified as a confined space. Contractors will be required to meet all applicable safety standards for working within confined spaces. The work is located at the Tiber Dam River Outlet Works, Tiber Dam, Montana. Tiber Dam is located on the Marias River, approximately 15 miles southwest of Chester, Montana in Liberty County. The bid opening date is tentatively scheduled for December 22, 2005 at the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Regional Office, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana. The solicitation packages are scheduled to be available on or around November 21, 2005. There is no charge for the first copy; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 per set. All reasonable sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation. The estimated price range of this acquisition is $100,000 to $250,000. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 238210. The small business size standard is $12.5 Million. This acquisition is unrestricted. This specifications and drawings will be not posted to the internet; however a complete solicitation package is available in hard copy.
