- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) seeks sources within industry commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), Oil Content Monitors (OCMs) for evaluation for possible use aboard US Naval vessels to measure effluent from Oil Water Separator (OWS) systems. The OCM systems need to meet the following criteria: (1) are commercially available; (2) meets the MEPC.107(49) guidelines for bilge alarms; (3) is accurate at 15ppm, plus or minus 5 ppm; (4) is accurate at 70 ppm, plus or minus 30 ppm; and (5) makes the correct decision (overboard or recirculate) 90% of the time. In addition, the following information must be provided: MEPC certificate in full; Technology used to measure oil; Mechanism of operation; Provision to compensate for interferences; Sampling Technique; Calibration requirements; Additional certification, support data, usage history; Maintenance requirements; Lead time for additional OCMs; System Costs including Basic unit plus any modification required meeting all Navy requirements, installation, operation, maintenance, logistic, etc; number of OCMs sold; and Point- of-Contact (POC). Responses to this synopsis are requested no later than 30 November 2005. This synopsis is for information purposes only to identify potential suppliers. It does not constitute an RFP and does not obligate the Government in any way to purchase any of the systems offered.
