- The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) proposes to issue a purchase order to a firm for actuarial support during a transition period as PBGC assumes trusteeship of the US Airways Retirement Plans. The Contractor, ExcellerateHRO (formerly Towers Perrin), has been the plan actuary over the past 10 years and possesses a wealth of knowledge that cannot readily be replaced. Under the order, ExcellerateHRO will provide the necessary support to ensure an efficient transition and train PBGC staff on how to research data issues and process informational requests. It is anticipated this short-term assignment will last for approximately three months (through December 31, 2005). In view of the ExcellerateHROs inherent knowledge with the complexities of the US Airways plans, PBGC policies and procedures, and integrated information system developed as the plan actuary over the past 10 years, ExcellerateHRO is uniquely qualified to perform these additional services in a timely manner.
