Description
The US Army RDECOM is seeking sources for a Digital Ballistic Ranging System (DBRS) similar to Barrett Optical Ranging System (BORS) or equivalent. The DBRS shall mount directly onto the Day Optic Scope (DOS) of the following weapon systems: 1.) M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS): Leupold?? Mark 4?? 10x40mm LR/T M3 (Model 47638), 2.) M107 Long Rang Sniper Rifle (LRSR): Leupold?? Mark 4?? 4.5-14x50mm LR/T M1 (Model 54560), 3.) XM110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS): Leupold?? Mark 4?? 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 (Model 53672). The DBRS will need to process parameters, read by integrated sensors, that are critical to engaging a target, including temperature, barometric pressure, and weapon pitch and elevation. The system should track the reticle position of the riflescope and designate the calculated elevation setting without requiring visual or manual tracking of the elevation knob of the listed DOS. The DBRS must be integrated to DOS of the weapon, but also remain detachable for storage, maintenance, or replacement. It also cannot interfere with typical operations of the weapon system. The digital ballistic ranging system must resist typical military environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, shock, drop, and water exposure. Interested contractors shall provide a description of their product(s)along with other available information specifications, brochures, manuals and other technical data as well as rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for the following: single unit, 1-100 units, 101-200 units, and 201-500 units to: U.S. Army RDECOM, ATTN: Joanne Cicarone, Contract Specialist, Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce, AMSTA-AQ-APD, Building 10, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. 07806-5000 EMAIL Cicarone@pica.army.mil. NO TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. In addition, provide the following basic information: Contractor name and address; point of contact with telephone number and email address; size of business; and country represented. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this Market Survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than November 25, 2005.
