- The U.S. Army TACOM-Picatinny, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ has a requirement to have parts produced to support the Lightweight 155mm Howitzer (LW155). This solicitation will consist of the following six welded and fabricated items- breech stool assembly, fast bar, rammer and staff and shell assembly, trident bar assembly, muzzle brake C-spanner, and third wheel assembly. Approximately 520 breech stool assemblies, 614 fast bars, 520 rammer staff and shell assemblies, 520 trident bar assemblies, 157 muzzle brake C-spanners, and 535 third wheel assemblies are expected to be required over a thirty month period. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded in the January 2006 timeframe with a base quantity and three (3) options, with deliveries occurring in May 06, Mar 07, Nov 07 and Jun 08. A Pre-Proposal Conference is planned at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ in early December 05 to address questions and allow potential offerors to see the actual parts to be manufactured. A firm fixed price base purchase order with three options shall be used for this acquisition utilizing 100% Small Business Set-Aside procedures. The competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available electronically at the following Internet address: http://procnet.pica.army.mil on or about fifteen (15) days from date of this announcement.
