Description
The U.S. Army, TACOM - Picatinny, Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is seeking sources for a requirement to obtain manufacturing (i.e., machine shop-type) support in the research and development of tank ammunition (KE) cartridges. Items to be produced will be inert ???specialty in nature??? (e.g., exotic fin mechanism designs for the Medium Range Munition (MRM) Program or Artillery shell bodies for the Lightweight Howitzer Program). Other items to be produced may involve the use of ???smart materials??? (SMA???s) or other exotic materials. This effort will mainly involve the large calibers (mainly, but not limited to 105mm, 120mm and 140mm). It may also, at times, involve the medium calibers (mainly, but not limited to 25mm, 40mm and 45mm) as well. It will also include the assembly of components into a specified assembly of a Government-furnished design. These are inert components, which are not hazardous items/hazardous materials. The contractor may be required to produce classified parts from classified drawings. The contractor must have the capability to handle and store classified Governments drawings and hardware. Therefore, contractors must obtain secret clearances for facility and personnel prior to submission of proposals for this requirement. It is anticipated that this will utilize a 5-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract, with a ceiling amount of $40,000,000. The Government may set this requirement aside for 100% small business, but all potential offerors, including large businesses are requested to respond to this market survey no later that 14 days from the initial publication of this notice to: Commander, U.S. Army TACOM-PICATINNY, ATTN: AMSTA-AQ-APF, Cynthia Jackson, Bldg, 9, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 or at cjacks@pica.army.mil. THIS IS NOT A SOLICTIATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
