- The US Army RDECOM, Picatinny, NJ is seeking sources for a handheld and lightweight Environmental Sensing Device (ESD) equivalent to Kestrel 4000 or better. The ESD must be a Non Developmental Item (NDI) or Commercial-Off-The- Shelf (COTS) item. The ESD shall have an integrated sensor capable to sense the following environmental conditions: wind speed, barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature, additional features like PDA interface capability, ability to store 10 days of environmental data or more, and the ability to read environmental output information at night are desired. The ESD is intended for US Army snipers, and shall survive the typical military condition, and various surrounding constraints like Electro Magnetic Interface (EMI). The estimated quantity that may be required by the Government is 5,000 each with minimum monthly delivery rate of 220 each. Interested contractors shall provide a description of their product(s)along with other available information specifications, brochures, manuals and other technical data as well as rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for the following: single unit, 1-100 units, 101-200 units, and 201-500 units to: U.S. Army RDECOM, ATTN: Joanne Cicarone, Contract Specialist, Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce, AMSTA-AQ-APD, Building 10, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. 07806-5000 EMAIL Cicarone@pica.army.mil. In addition, provide the following basic information: Contractor name and address; point of contact with telephone number and email address; size of business; and country represented. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this Market Survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than November 25, 2005
