Description

The National Archives and Records Administration, Office of Human Resources and Information Services, Records Management Service Components office, is seeking information from industry relating to functional requirements for seven service components addressing records management in a components-based architecture. The Request for Information (RFI) is part of a market research effort to assess the completeness of records management requirements for placement into the Component Organization and Registration Environment (CORE.Gov) of the Federal Enterprise Architecture Program Management Office. The purpose of this RFI is to describe the general nature of the Governments need, the information desired of industry, and to provide instructions for submission of industry responses. This RFI is being issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. The information contained in this RFI is based on the best and most current information available to date, is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Any significant changes will be provided in subsequent synopsis, if required. We appreciate your response. It will be used solely by NARA as market research. Do not send any material that requires a non-disclosure agreement or that may be business sensitive. Responses received that include a non-disclosure agreement or identify information that is business sensitive will not be accepted. Responses to this notice will not be returned. If interested in participating, please send an email no later than Nov 10, 2005, 12:00 P.M. EST containing an attachment in Microsoft Word97 or later. Address email to Ms. Kathleen McGrath : kathleen.mcgrath@nara.gov. The email must contain the following subject line: RFI NAMA-06-R-0003, RMSC. Use of any other subject line or attachment format as indicated may delay your entry or cause it to not be considered. The body of the email must only contain the company name, mailing address, telephone number, and point of contact. Contact information must be repeated on the cover page of the attachment.. In order to assist in the government?s evaluation of responses, please review ?Functional Requirements and Attributes for Records Management in a Components-Based Architecture,? available for download from: http://www.archives.gov/era/rmsc/rmsc-documents.html. Provide in the attachment to your email, comments on the clarity and completeness of the use cases contained in ?Functional Requirements and Attributes for Records Management in a Components-Based Architecture.? Additionally, describe any information, not presented in the use cases needed to provide a proposal for a technical solution within the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework only. Other pertinent information: Submit responses no later than Nov 10, 2005, 12:00P.M. EST. Limit the attachment to no more than 10 pages, formatted with one inch margins (left, right, top, bottom) and twelve point Times New Roman font. The page limitation does not include the cover page or email. EMAIL RESPONSES WITHOUT THE AFOREMENTIONED INFORMATION, ATTACHMENT AND FORMAT WILL NOT BE RECOGNIZED AS VALID. ALL PROSPECTIVE COMMENTERS MUST RESPOND TO THIS SYNOPSIS VIA EMAIL. TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATIONS AND/OR INFORMATION, DEMONSTRATIONS OF CAPABILITIES, OR COMMENTS FRAMED AS APPLICATION-BASED SOLUTIONS OR OUTSIDE A COMPONENTS-BASED ARCHITECTURE FRAMEWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR RETURNED. NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. The Government reserves the right to conduct oral capabilities demonstrations that may be scheduled at a later date.
