Description
The Corps of Engineers Louisiana, Recovery Field Office, intends to explore the availability of large, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and HubZone firms located in Louisiana for the following project: Demolition of Structures wi thin, but not limited to, the Parish boundaries of Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and Orleans, devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The requirement may cover both public and private structures condemned by local officials. Under NAICS code 238910 with t he primary task(s) as follows: Provide all supervision, labor, plant, equipment and materials necessary to perform complete demolition of 10 structures per day. The structures will be demolished using a tract or rubber tired excavator with thumb attachmen t or grapple and water trucks with spray devices to reduce dust and possible air borne asbestos that may be present. Household hazardous waste and white goods will be removed during the demolition process, and stored on site for removal by others. The wh ite goods containing Freon shall be handled to prevent leakage. The structures will be removed down to the slab and the area 10 foot around the slab or footing foot print, will be cleared of all loose debris 6 inches or larger. Work should commence by 07 00 the day following receipt of the Notice to Proceed, and shall be performed within the designated work site(s). Work shall be performed during the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, seven days per week. Documentation of completed work should include pre- an d post-demolition digital photos detailing complete demolition. The contractors shall be bonded, and will be required to comply with all applicable local permits and licenses. Estimated magnitude of project for multiple awards value estimated at $75 mill ion. Please advise of possible interest in this project as a qualified 8(a), HubZone, or Louisiana firm by providing to contact below a brief synopsis of previous projects performed with demolition of this nature, including dollar value, description of w ork, customer of the project with points of contact and phone numbers, bonding capability, possible partnership endeavors, and any particular experience with your firm. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only, and is not to be constru ed as a Request for Proposal, nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
