- Description
- The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center of Jacksonville, FL, intends to procure rentals for a feed- water-processing unit to filter silicates and other minerals from water, for shipboard applications requiring de-mineralized water, for the USS John F. Kennedy, stationed in Mayport, FL. The unit shall be capable of processing approximately 70,000 to 90,000 gallons of water daily. At a minimum, the ship anticipates processing a minimum of 150,000 gallons each time it requests rental services, with the possibility of renting the unit for several consecutive days. Although it is customary in the industry to charge a flat fee for renting a unit that covers up to several days? use, interested vendors are instructed to quote the Government a DAILY rental rate to permit an unambiguous evaluation of all offers the Government receives in response to this solicitation. The estimated quantity is for 180 rental days during the time following the date of contract award through the remainder of fiscal year 2006. The solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis, open to both small and large businesses. If an interested vendor does not have a presence in the greater Jacksonville metropolitan area, the vendor shall clearly state in its offer how the required delivery time will be met.
