Description

Provide testing and other investigative support services to the Government in an on-going effort to determine the root cause of failures in the Light Weight (LW) 30MM M789 HEDP cartridge, NSN 1305-01-268-9373, Part No. 12902728. Multiple, separate e fforts are expected to be performed over the next nine month period. The contractor will be required to conduct testing and provide test results to the Government. Contractor will also be required to complete a Design of Experiment (DOE). To fulfill these requirements, the contractor will be required to have access to ful l-up M789 cartridges as well as M789 components including but not limited to M759 fuzes, PA 520 primers, and flashtubes. Alliant Techsystems (ATK), is the sole producer of both the 30MM M789 cartridge and its M759 Fuze, and is the only source to possess s pecialized knowledge, skills, equipment, and facilities to analyze, inspect, and test M789 cartridges and components. Therefore, this requirement is being restricted ATK. However, interested firms who feel that they are capable of providing these servic es are invited to indicate their interest along with information concerning their capabilities no later than 18 November 2005.
