Description

The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound is soliciting for a firm fixed price supply type contract to be negotiated on a full and open basis for cooling water chemicals for air compressors and diesel generators in support of Commander Navy Region Northwest, Navy Base Kitsap, Bremerton, WA. The chemicals are used to protect systems from the four key problems suffered by cooling systems namely: scale, corrosion, biofouling and suspended solids. These chemicals help improve system efficiency and maintain safe working conditions within the cooling system itself. The cooling water chemicals shall inhibition scale and corrosion with the use of molybdates, silicates, all organics and phosphonates, etc. The solicitation shall include exact information about the composition, concentrations or purity of the offered chemicals to ensure that environmentally hazardous materials are controlled. The chemicals shall be Chemtreat Inc, CL1462 or equal (main active ingredient is the sodium salt of tolytriazole), CL 2112 or equal (main active ingredient is glutaraldehyde) and CL2150 or equal (main active ingredient is 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one) or equal. The chemicals shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental laws. Solicitation responses shall include detailed description of the chemicals offered and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for each chemical. This solicitation is for two 55-gal barrels (553 lbs) of CL-1462 or equal, two 55-gallon barrels (475 lbs) of CL-2150 or equal and two 55-gallon barrels (517 lbs) of CL-2112) or equal for immediate shipment to Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton WA 98314 with an option Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) for one additional shipment at a later date. The solicitation, N00406-06-T-0124, will be issued on or about 07 November 2005 with a closing date of November 15 2005. Proposed contract will be procured using commercial Simplified Acquisition procedures in accordance with Far Part 12 and 13.5. The Government anticipates award of a single firm fixed price supply type contract. This solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: http://www.neco.navy.mil. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents.
