Description
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Indian Health Services is seeking through a Sources Sought announcement for Radiology physicians. If you have the ability to meet the need please respond to this Sources Sought. Pricing should be included. SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor shall cover the range of services in accordance with the requirements contained herein. The range of radiology services cover diagnostic radiology, and may include computed tomography, ultrasound, and mammography. The Contractor shall provide radiologist services onsite and per contractors approved privileges and coverage for Diagnostic Imaging department. The Contractor must possess the following qualifications: Board certification/eligible in radiology Licensed to practice medicine in in a state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States Clinical privileges granted by government The contract will be for a term of one (1) year, and may be optioned extended for an additional four (4) - years. The contractor shall review the requirements/specifications and become familiar with the areas of coverage. This government shall issue a firm, fixed-price contract. The firm-fixed price shall be inclusive of all cost associated in performance of a contract. Scheduling will be made one month in advance. Performance for a period of one year is estimated at 1500 hours. Contractor shall accept varying shift rotations. Contractors shall not exceed 8 hours in a day (lunch and breaks are not considered to be in a performance status). ABSENCES: Government shall not be responsible for payment of leave (absences), including sick leave, holiday, or vacation time is the responsibility of the contractor. The Contractor shall be required to sign in and out utilizing the governments system (RPMS - sign in/out menu). RADIOLOGY PRIVILEGES: LEVEL OF ASSIGNMENT Contractor provides comprehensive radiological interpretation of radiology studies on inpatients and outpatients of all ages from newborn to elderly. Incumbent functions as a general radiological consultant to the government medical personnel, physicians and ancillary providers at all facilities whom refer patients. Contractor shall obtain history for general radiographic diagnosis, carries out appropriate physical examination, if required, obtains indicated laboratory test results, and assess the severity of illness. Contractor may contact patients and referring physicians to provide results of studies and tests. Contractor may be required to oversee the radiographic examination, ensuring the correct radiographic procedure is conducted, relating the symptom to the pain and/or illness of the patient. Contractor provides consultation, reporting the radiologic diagnostic examination, delivering interpretation of the study and the diagnoses of the x-ray to the clinician. Recommends and directs the care and treatment of the patient. Consults with the requesting physician before a procedure is done, deciding on the procedure and ensuring the minimization of the invasion of the patient. Contractor shall be responsible for submitting Diagnostic Radiology reports. These reports of diagnostic interpretations shall be submitted as dictation (on Hospital furnished equipment), handwritten, or typed as directed in Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by the Chief, Department of Radiology. Reports shall be approved within one day of transcription. Contractor may provide technical direction for the technicians and ancillary personnel in the Department in the performance of their duties. Contractor shall be required to maintain professional knowledge and proficiency in Diagnostic Imaging through continuing education, staff meetings and workshops. Immunization Contracted physicians are required to be immunized. Indian Health Service (IHS) Employee Immunization Policy requires all IHS employees working in an IHS hospital or clinic to be immunized for the following: Hepatitis B; Tetanus; Rubeloa/Rubella; and PPD screening yearly Contractors shall provide documentation of immunity by record of laboratory evidence of immunity or documented immunization with live virus vaccine. Orientation Contractors shall participate in orientation. A background check is required. The governments Human Resource Department will do the background check on staff under this contract. The contractor shall be required to complete all necessary documentation required by the Human Resources Department. CREDENTIALING AND PRIVILEGING 1. The contractor will participate in the Credentialing and Privileging process in accordance with existing procedure. Contractor shall provide no services prior to obtaining approval by the governments Medical Executive and Governing Board. The contractor will be provided copies of current requirements and updates as they are published. 2. Privileges will require renewal at least every two (2) years in accordance with government credentialing/privileging policy and JCAHO requirements.
