Description
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region has a requirement for Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) Tags. This requirement for commercial items is being procured in accordance with Subpart 13.5, ?Test Program for Certain Commercial Items,? and Parts 12 and 15 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a solicitation for this requirement. The description and estimated quantities are as follows: Pit Tags, Qty 421,692; Pit Tag Reader, Qty 23; Mini Portable Reader, Qty 23; Pocket-type Reader, Qty 15, Pit Tag Implanters, Qty 600; and Software, with options to purchase additional quantities per FAR Clause 52.217-7, ?Option For Increased Quantity?Separately Priced Line Item.? The contract will be firm, fixed price for an approximately five-year period. Delivery is to Salt Lake City, Utah. The salient characteristics for the pit tags are as follows: ISO Compliant 11784 and 11785; full duplex; glass encapsulated and bio-compatible; operating temperature between 25 ? 100 degrees Celsius; implantable with syringe or similar method; weight 1.25 grams or less; length less than or equal to 13 mm; width less than or equal to 2.3 mm; coding contains 13 numbers with the first three numbers indicating the manufacturer. The Pit Tag Reader, full feature requires a Brand Name or Equal to Biomark Model FS2001F-ISO. The Mini Portable Reader requires a Brand Name or Equal to Biomark Model RD-MPR. The Pocket-type Reader requires a Brand Name or Equal to Biomark Model RD-PREX. The salient characteristics for the pit tag readers are as follows: Must read 134.2 and 400.0 KhZ; must be ISO Compliant 11784 and 11785; must be updateable to accommodate software upgrades; at least one model of reader must have the capability to store tag numbers; and readers shall be water resistant and shock resistant. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334511 with a Size Standard of 750 employees. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
