Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a supply and service contract whereby the Contractor shall furnish chemical toilets, hereinafter referred to as units, to accommodate the disable and non-disabled user, at various si tes on the Willamette Valley Projects. The Contractor shall furnish Units, which shall be a minimum of 36 inches wide, 44 inches deep and 76 inches high in size. Units shall be constructed with, or be equivalent, to 3/8 inches plywood covered with fiberg lass with double seams on all corners. Unit colors shall be white, green, brown or combinations of these colors on the outside. Each toilet shall be equipped with a seat box and a metal, plastic, or porcelain urinal trough. Toilets shall be constructed so that the occupants will be protected against the weather and falling objects. All cracks shall be sealed and the door shall be tight fitting, self-closing, and able to be latched from inside. Seat boxes shall be vented to the outside (minimum vent siz e 4 inches inside diameter) with intake located one inch below the seat. Toilets shall be constructed so that the interior receives adequate lighting. Adequate ventilation shall be provided and all windows and vents shall be screened. The Contractor sha ll furnish units designed for the disable user. Units shall have the same construction standards and colors as previously stated, except for size. Units shall be a minimum of 56 inches wide, 48 inches deep, and 32 inches wide door in size. Contractor sh all furnish a urinal for the disabled user units. Units shall also be furnished with an outside ramp for wheelchair access and inside handrails to accommodate the disable user. The Contractor shall service and maintain all units on a regular basis. Cont ractor shall remove all material from unit's storage compartment, including but not limited to sewage, rocks, and bottles. Units are to be free of all dirt, cobwebs, and all other foreign materials from walls, floor, and seating areas, and the unit's inte rior surfaces shall be cleaned with a mild detergent and disinfectant. Each unit is to be supplied with toilet paper and deodorizing chemicals. Units will be inspected for maintenance needs and perform all repairs in a timely manner, and all waste shall be disposed of at an approved DEQ site. This solicitation will be procured for the base year and four option years. The performance period will begin 1 January 2006.
