Description

Description of Supplies/Services: THE US Geological Survey, has a requirement for the supplies of bulk pipettes tips, 10 ml (0.1ul to 20ml), 10 ml (0.1 ul to 10 ml) non-Finepoint, Rainin Certified. The manufacturer of the pipettes will guarantee performance of the pipettes if certified by Rainin Instrument Company. Each pipette is provided with a Certificate of Conformance under strict ISC-9001 specifications which will provide information for traceability and GMP/GLP regulations: Model and serial number, Testing conditions, balance manufacturer, sensitivity and serial number, specifications of accompanying EDP, test data and results. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the supplies specified as a sole source from: Rainin Instruments Company Inc., Rainin Road, Woburn, MA, 01801 the manufacturer of the equipment and proposes to negotiate a base year (12 month) contract plus two (2) twelve (12) month option periods with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required item or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
