?This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane.? NAVSURFWARCEN Crane Division has a requirement for engineering support services in support of the AEGIS AN/SPY-1 Radar Systems. The services may include efforts to increase reliability, improve performance, reduce acquisition costs or transition engineering efforts into production of existing Continuous Wave Illuminator (CWI) Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) and Simplified Driver (SDR) TWT designs. The solicitation will be issued utilizing other than full and open competition procedures under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304?(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Offers will be solicited from Communications and Power Industries, Palo Alto, CA. Five-year indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery, cost plus fixed fee type of contracts are anticipated to result. Performance requirements shall be specified by individual delivery orders. Delivery of data is F.O.B. Destination as specified by each order. The solicitation will be available for download on or about 1 December 2005. Closing date will be on or about 4 January 2006. This notice is a synopsis, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the U.S. Navy to procure subject equipment. Contract D.A. Offers must be submitted in the format specified in the solicitation to be considered. Submitting a bid from the NECO web site by clicking on the "Submit Bid" does not guarantee offers will be received by the proper person in the correct format. It is the responsibility of offerors to download the RFP and to submit offers to the POC at NSWC Crane to be considered.
