- AMENDMENT TO BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT (BAA) 06-01 Mission Adaptable Chemical Sensor (MACS). The purpose of Amendment 01 is to (a) clarify program deliverable requirements, and (b) remove incorrect proposal formatting instructions. Specifically: (a) The Government will not assume title to the breadboard- and prototype-level systems to be demonstrated in Phase I and II, respectively. Required deliverables will include the demonstrations themselves, system data resulting from these demonstrations, and the Phase I and II Final Reports as previously described. (b) The Government does not require proposals to address the gains afforded by the proposed technology on submarine infrastructure cost. This instruction was included erroneously. The following revisions apply. Proposers' Information Pamphlet, Section 2 (Program Overview), Subsection 2.1 (Phase I), Item 2.1.3 (Deliverables): DELETE: Breadboard-level system capable of demonstrating a chemical analysis performance capability according to the milestone criteria listed above INSERT: Breadboard-level system demonstration of a chemical analysis performance capability according to the technical milestone criteria specified in subparagraph 2.1.2, and system data obtained, processed, and output during this demonstration Proposers' Information Pamphlet, Section 2 (Program Overview), Subsection 2.2 (Phase II), Item 2.2.3 (Deliverables): DELETE: Two (2) prototype-level systems that will be field-demonstrated for chemical analysis INSERT: Prototype-level field demonstration of a chemical analysis capability according to the technical milestone criteria listed in subparagraph 2.2.2, and system data obtained, processed, and output during this demonstration Proposers' Information Pamphlet, Section 4 (Preparation of Proposals), Subsection 4.2 (Proposal Formatting Characteristics), Item 4.2.2.1 (Volume I, Technical and Management Proposal, Detailed Proposal Information, Innovative claims for the proposed technology or concept): DELETE: Specifically address, quantitatively if possible, the gains afforded by the proposed technology on submarine infrastructure cost. BAA06-01 "Mission Adaptable Chemical Sensor (MACS)" and associated documents remain unchanged except as stated herein.
