Description

The USDA, Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Cotton Program intends to issue sole source follow-on contract awards using commercial and simplified acquisition procedures to Uster Technologies, Inc. located in Knoxville, TN. The proposed actions will extend the maintenance of 30 High Volume Classing Instrument (HVI) systems for a period of one year with an option for an additional year. A separate contract will extend the maintenance period of up to 39 High Volume Classing Instruement (HVI) systems for a period of up to 3 months. The proposed action is to permit USDA to continue to use previously acquired HVI systems throughout the life of the systems. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Numbered Note 22 applies.
