Description: This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract for service under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to DirecTV, 2230 East Imperial Highway, El Segundo, CA 90245. DirecTV is the only satellite television provider that has all of the financial news channels (Bloomberg, CSPAN1 & 2, Headline News, CNBC, MSNBC, NEWS MIX Channel) that are required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Market Watch Room to monitor the financial markets. DirecTV is the back-up news source for the SEC Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). This award will be made, unless information to the contrary is received by Louis Gilden at GildenL@sec.gov no later than 12:00 Noon EST on November 23, 2005. Information received as a result of this notice may or may not affect the award and is solely within the discretion of the SEC.
