- BACKGROUND The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) charters, regulates, and supervises the national banks and the federal branches and agencies of foreign banks. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the OCC is responsible for promoting and assuring the safety and soundness of the country?s system of national banks and maintaining its competitiveness, efficiency, integrity, and stability in the financial marketplace. SCOPE OF WORK The OCC requires Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) for institutions (active & inactive) that are or have been supervised by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or Federal Reserve Board (FRB) at some time during the period January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2005 and EINs for institutions that are or were supervised by the FDIC or FRB some time during the quarter every quarter thereafter. In addition, the OCC requires the EINs for Technology Service Providers (TSPs) (active & inactive) for the period January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2005 and EINs for active TSPs each quarter thereafter. TECHINCAL REQUIREMENTS To maximize the potential for obtaining all EINs for institutions that are or were supervised by the FDIC or FRB during the periods indicated above the OCC will provide the following two data sets: Data Set 1: The full legal (trade) names and the full legal addresses (street address, city, state, and zip code) of the institutions that are or were supervised by the FDIC or FRB during the periods indicated above. Data Set 2: EINs that potentially belong to institutions that are or were supervised by the FDIC or FRB during the periods indicated above. For obtaining all EINs for TSPs during the periods indicated above the OCC will provide the following data set: Data Set 3: The full legal (trade) names and the full legal addresses (street address, city, state, and zip code) of the TSPs (active & inactive) for the periods indicated above. The vendor in return will provide three data sets in a prescribed format that is mapped to the rows in the original data provided by the OCC that includes the EINs, full legal (trade) name and the full legal address (street address, city, state, and zip code) for each institution where an acceptable match (e.g., reasonable assurance there is a match) was made. If more than one legal name and address is associated with a particular EIN provided in Data Set 2, each legal name and address is to be provided as well as the time period (the start and end dates in mm/dd/yyyy format) for which each particular legal name and address was applicable.
