Description
NAICS Code: 621511 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to make award to John Hopkins University on a sole-source basis for a follow-on mortality study on a cohort of employees at a chromate production plant located in Baltimore, Md. This action is a follow-on to a study begun in the mid 1990's by a cooperative agreement with John Hopkins University. The results of that study were published in 2000 (Gibb, 2000). The North American Industry Classification System Code for this procurement is 621511. The intended work will add data to the vital status information currently documented through 1991. The follow-on effort will include a data update with information from 1992 to 2003. Once the necessary data has been collected, a technical report will be prepared for EPA including a detailed discussion of the update process, general data analysis, statistical analysis as specified in the Statement of Work, and a discussion of the data analysis. The award is to be made on a sole-source basis to John Hopkins University and their staff based on their previous work on this study, and their current maintenance of the chromium study data. Though the Government intends to make a sole-source award to John Hopkins University, any vendor believing itself able to meet the requirements of the EPA may offer a response in writing by December 13, 2005. All responses received within 15 days shall be considered for award. Any questions or responses should be directed to Cara Lynch at (202) 564-4734 or lynch.cara@epa.gov.
