- The above referenced combined synopsis/solicitation is hereby amended to change a technical specification in response to a technical question submitted. The due date for quotations, 3:30 PM Local Time on Friday, December 2, 2005, remains unchanged. QUESTION: I'm in process in preparing the quotation regarding the actual NIST bidding and I found a small inconsistency in the required specs. Assuming bandwidth - limited pulses and a sech^2 pulse shape, the following relation is given: pulsewidth * bandwidth = 0.315 Calculating with an 7ps long pulse, the corresponding bandwidth is 0.17nm. On the other side the pulse duration corresponding to 0.05nm is 24ps. Typically the pulses of a Nd:vanadate picosecond laser are nearly bandwidth limited, which means a typical bandwidth corresponding to 7ps is around 0.2nm. Could you please comment on that. RESPONSE: Upon receipt of this question, NIST noted that Specification (4) conflicts with Specification (7). Therefore, Specification (4) is being modified. Specification (4) is hereby changed to read as follows: (4) Laser Bandwidth must be less than or equal to 0.2 nm;
