Description
The U.S. Government is conducting a market survey of industry to identify sources that are interested in manufacturing the MK79 Mod 1 Pallet/Adapter, NSN 8140-01-467-1305. The POC is: Christian Otto, (309) 782-7281 or Rita Combs, (309) 782-3605. I f a solicitation is issued, the government will utilize a Best Value, range bid approach, and the resulting contract could include multiple option year requirements. Potential bidders should be aware that all gage designs, quality requirements and Gover nment-witnessed First Article testing must be satisfactorily completed prior to initial production. Monthly deliveries of 500 to 1000 each per month would be required, with estimated yearly quantities of: 7,500 in FY06; 5,500 in FY07; 8,750 in FY08. The Pallet/Adapter is a reusable assembly consisting of two galvanized steel weldments: a bottom and top frame. The bottom frame is a two way entry pallet; it is used to store and transfer 2000-pound General Purpose Bombs. Materials utilized include commerc ial grade sheet steel and hot rolled steel. Processes necessary to manufacture the pallet adapter include arc welding and zinc phosphate coating. Additional information regarding the above item can be requested from the above POCs. A respondent to this market survey should be able to show that they have adequate technical capability and manufacturing capacity. Interested companies who have the capabilities should respond by providing the following information; a brief summary of your company's capabilit ies, description of facilities, personnel, and related manufacturing experience; estimated minimum and maximum monthly production quantities, estimated prices - rough order of magnitude and the minimum procurement quantity required for production. If a re spondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must have the necessary capabilities cited above.
