Description
Provide complete A/E Services to prepare preliminary drawings, develop the design, and prepare final construction documents including cost estimate. A/E will also provide construction period services for project 603-06-109, Repair AHU-10 Duct System at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky. This project is to design for replacement and or repair of damaged ductwork in the Air handler Unit-10 duct system which serves a portion of the Surgery Operating room Area, the Ambulatory Surgery Unit, the Recovery Room, and Central OR Nurse Station. Design will be to correct duct leakage & restriction problems; provide proper airflow to all areas; and to eliminate condensate carry-over problem in the AHU-10 itself. Design will address best way to accomplish work, while providing least disruption to the spaces affected. Design is to be in accordance with DVA Design Criteria and Standards and all applicable codes. This announcement is restricted to A/E firms that are located within a 50 mile radius of Metropolitan Louisville, Kentucky and is set-a-side 100% for small emerging business under NAICS 541310. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: Factor number (1) is most important with factor number (2, 3, and 5) equal to each other but somewhat less, important than factor number (1). Factor (4) is less important than (1, 2, 3, and 5) but more important than factor (6), which is of least importance. The following are the rating factors. (1) Specialized Experience and Technical Competence (2) Specific Experience and Qualifications of Personnel Proposed. (3) Professional Capacity of the Firm in the Designated Geographic Area. (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government Agencies. (5) Geographic Location and Facilities of the Working Office. (6) Point Adjustment for Existing Design Work, and Existing Construction Period Services. Firms desiring consideration must submit their SF-330 Architect Engineer Qualifications by COB (3:30 PM EST) December 29, 2005 directly to: VA Medical Center Attn: Victoria Caudill (90C), BLDG 3, RM 3208, 800 Zorn Ave., Louisville, KY 40206-1499. A/E firms must be located within a 50 mile radius of metropolitan Louisville, Kentucky and this solicitation is set-a-side 100% for small emerging firms only. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541310.
