Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to determine the availability of potential SDVOSB, VOSB, HUB Zone, 8(a), WOSB, SDB or SB qualified Design-Build (DB) contractors and vendors to be considered for the design and construction of a 80-bed acute psychiatric inpatient facility on it?s campus located at 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304. The contractor must be a General Construction Firm with an approved NAICS Code 236220 and a bonding capacity of approximately $25- $30 Million. The contractor must have similar design-build HOSPITAL experience. The DB Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to design and construct a new 76,000 GSF Psychiatric Facility, which will consist of 80 bedrooms, several nurses? station, staff offices, facility support area, dining areas, site utilities, landscaping, an administrative and research wing, loading dock, and food prep area. This Project is being delivered under the ?bridging method? of project procurement wherein the DVA?s Consultant, The Design Partnership (TDP), will prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) which will include design development drawings and specifications which will be the basis for the DB Proposals from qualified DB Contractor Teams. The DB Contractor is responsible for hiring an Architect to be known as the ?AE of Record? to participate with his team in preparing his DB Proposal. The RFP and documents will be available on or about February 13, 2006. At this time, no solicitation exists, therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A SOLICITATION. DB Contractors and vendors having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought. Responses should include the following information: Company Name, Address, Point of Contact, Phone number and E-mail address; business size determination and qualifying Small Business status. Please address the following : 1. Certification of Small Business Status 2. Available Bonding Capacity 3. Health care construction experience of similar projects in size and complexity 4. Design Built experience 5. Contractor's information and point of contact, mail address, etc. The estimated cost for this project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. Please provide your responses and direct any questions or concerns to the Contracting Officer (183B3), Chris Kyrgos, Room 567, Vermont Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.20420 by December 16, 2005. Email is acceptable. The RFP and documents will be available Mid of February 2006.
