Description
The Government is seeking professional design services from an architect-engineering firm to develop working drawings and specifications to replace/upgrade the fire alarm system at the HJ Heinz division of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. This work includes, but is not limited to, buildings 32 (and new addition/Data Building), 49, 49a, 50, 51, 7, 17 (7 & 17 shall be capable of accepting existing devices), site work modifications, and landscaping. In addition, the new addressable system shall be capable of accepting signals from future buildings. Design shall be in compliance with all applicable building codes and VA design standards. Copies of VA publications are available upon request from VA Engineering or on the internet at www.va.gov/facmgt/standard/va_stds.htm Design must meet all applicable and most current federal and state codes/requirements, i.e.: OSHA, EPA, DER, NFPA 101, JCAHO, AHERA, NESHAPS, NFPA, ASTM, PENNDOT, UFAS. The architect-engineer will make site visits as necessary to survey existing conditions as required to determine existing as-built conditions affecting this project. A/E shall field verify all dimensions, wall layouts, etc. A/E shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project. A/E shall coordinate visits with the Project Engineer. A/E must be proficient in the use of AutoCad 2000 and have access to Microsoft Word 5.0 or higher. Estimated cost of construction is $1,000,000-$2,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to within sixty (60) miles of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. Those interested firms, both small and large, within the area of consideration, shall submit three (3) copies of current SF 330 to the attention of Cheryl Ebert, (Contracting Officer) 04A1-H, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The NAICS code is 541330 with the small business size standard of $4.0 million. Due date for SF 330 is January 4, 2006 at close of business (COB) 4:30 PM. This is not a request for proposals.
