Description
The Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB FL, requests information from potential sources on the availability of two Electrodynamic Mechanical Vibration Systems. This RFI is for non-developmental items (NDI) that are available off-the-shelf. These vibration systems will be utilized in the 46 Test Wing?s Operational Ground Test Facility where conventional munitions are subjected to simulated flight environments in a controlled laboratory setting. Both mechanical vibration systems shall include a slip table, power amplifiers, control interface and associated hardware for independent operation. The two vibration systems shall also be capable of being operated and controlled simultaneously for increased capability. The systems will be required to perform sinusoidal, random, and shock profiles with an operational frequency range between 20 and 2000 Hz, and have a minimum 2? stroke. Total required payload capacity is no less than 3,000 lbs. The systems will not require water cooling for the shaker assembly or amplifiers. The vibration system?s interface shall be compatible with the Unholtz-Dickie company?s interface that is currently operated by the 46th Test Wing. Potential sources shall provide Technical Data Packages for this effort, to include information that is pertinent and specific in the design of Electrodynamic Mechanical Vibration Systems for testing of live conventional munitions. Any other specific and pertinent information as pertains to this particular area of Electrodynamic Mechanical Vibration Systems that would enhance the government?s consideration and evaluation of the information provided, should also be submitted. Contract award is anticipated in FY07 for the first mechanical vibration system, with the second system funding in the following year. This RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bids (IFB), nor does its issuance restrict the government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The government will neither award a contract solely on the basis of this notice, nor pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this RFI. Any future acquisition will utilize the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code, 334511, with a small business size standard of 750 employees. For contractual information concerning this synopsis, please contact the Contracting Specialist, Ms. Cheryl Owens, 850-882-0339 or by e-mail at cheryl.owens@eglin.af.mil.
