Description
The product characteristics include: The TRAM shall be a militarized commercial scoop type, pneumatic tire, four wheel drive, articulated frame steer, diesel engine driven loader. The intent of this solicitation is to replace the tractor only and utilize the existing TRAM bucket and fork carriage via a quick disconnect coupler system. The TRAM shall be sized to operate as a multi-purpose bucket loader with a minimum capacity of 2.5 cubic yards and as a forklift with 72-inch forks with a minimum lift of 10,000 pounds at 48-inch load center. The current multi-purpose bucket weighs about 3,800 pounds and the fork carriage about 3,300 pounds. The diesel engine shall also be capable of operating on JP-8. The TRAM shall have the capability of being transportable worldwide by rail, marine, highway, and air modes. Air transport mode shall be by C-130, C-5 and C-17 aircraft. If disassembly is required to meet any of the transport requirements, it shall be accomplished in one hour or less. The TRAM shall have a minimum travel speed of 20 mph and an objective of 25 mph. The vehicle curb weight shall not exceed 36,700 pounds with bucket or fork attachment. It shall have a minimum fording depth of 25 inches and an objective of 48 inches. Other military unique requirements include the following: 24 volt starting capability, to include a NATO slave receptacle, in conjunction with your 12 volt system; equipped with an M-16 rifle mounting rack inside the cab; lifting and tie-down brackets in accordance with MIL-STD-209; equipped with blackout lights; and CARC painted in accordance with MIL-DTL-53072. Established worldwide customer service capabilities including Pacific Rim locations such as Australia, Korea, and Japan and a standard commercial warranty with options for an extension to 60 months. Firms possessing the capabilities to accomplish this requirement are invited to submit a statement of qualification, enclose product literature, past performance information, current GSA or other schedule information (if applicable) and price schedules/catalogues. Responses to this RFI should be received no later than 31 January 2006. Submissions are for market research and all materials will be retained in confidence.
