Description
The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has a requirement for removal and disposal services of all seized and forfeited vehicles, valued at $2,500 or less, within the States of New Mexico and Texas. The Contractor will be required to tow, dismantle, salvage, scrap, and destroy all vehicle parts in accordance with Government instructions. By destroying only the vehicle components identified by the Government, the Contractor can recover all other component parts for salvage (sale) and recoup all revenue received from recycling the remaining vehicle scrap. CBP anticipates awarding a no-cost contract, as the costs associated with this requirement, should be offset by the potential revenue gained from the sale of all component parts and the remaining scrap metal. This solicitation is set-aside for SMALL BUSINESSES. It is the intent of CBP to award one (1) or more commercial item contracts, with a contract term of a base year and four (4) one-year options, for a total of five (5) years. It is anticipated that solicitation number HSBP1006R0648 will be issued on or about January 30,2006. CBP intends to hold a pre-proposal conference after the solicitation has been released. Details regarding the pre-proposal conference will be included in the solicitation. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration (GSA) Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site: http://www.eps.gov. The EPS provides downloading instructions. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be issued. Therefore, telephone, written or e-mail requests for a hard copy of the solicitation will not be accepted. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be issued solely through the EPS site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the EPS web site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. Any questions must be emailed to the Contracting Officer at Cherita.Thomas@dhs.gov. No telephone calls will be accepted.
