Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI). The Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Project Management Office for Decontamination (DECON) and Chemical Biological Medical Systems (CBMS) are seeking potential sources capable of providing human-readable tim e-temperature sensors for use with Service member-carried medical chemical biological defense items. The degree and speed of product degradation is product specific and determined by manufacturer/government tests. The effect of temperature on these items i s cumulative over time. The time-temperature sensor must be capable of being applied to the chemical biological defense item without obscuring the items label or increasing the weight/cube of the item. Potential sources must describe the time-temperature sensors currently available in their product line which provides a visual indication when a time-temperature profile has been exceeded. They must also be compliant with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Potential sources should be able to des cribe the following: (1) the size/weight of their product, (2) how their time-temperature sensors are read by the user, (3) their quality assurance, testing, and sampling methods as well as the reliability of the sensor, and (4) the performance of the devi ces in real-world applications, including types of products marked, how the sensors are used, and any potential limitations of use. Potential sources should also provide costs associated with any products they currently have available and the location of their manufacturing plant. This is not a request for competitive proposals but parties purporting to have the requisite credentials to provide time-temperature sensors must furnish in writing, factual information, which clearly support and demonstrates ev idence of such abilities. This information may be submitted via mail, email, or fax. All responses are to be submitted no later than 19 January 2006 by 4:00 pm EST in order to be accepted for review. All paperwork must be sent to U.S. Army Space and Missil e Defense Command, ATTN: Shelley Marken, 64 Thomas Johnson Drive, Frederick, MD 21702, FAX (301) 619-5069 or by email to shelley.marken@det.amedd.army.mil. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a soli citation or the issuance thereof. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Governm ent to form a binding contract. Responders are soley responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.
