Description
The NRC intends to award a cost-plus-fixed-fee type contract. The proposed effort will require the contractor to provide qualified personnel to support the maintenance and development of the Symbolic Nuclear Analysis Package (SNAP), a graphical user interface system that supports NRC nuclear analysis codes: TRAC/RELAP (Reactor Leak And Power safety excursion code) Advanced Computational Engine (TRACE), RELAP, Version 5 (RELAP5), CONTAIN, MELCOR, FRAPCON and FRAPTRAN. SNAP includes pre- and postprocessor components allowing code specific models to be built, exported, submitted to the analysis code, then receiving the output from the analysis code and displaying the results in a user friendly fashion. SNAP is written primarily in Java although some aspects of the post-processor component are written in C. SNAP is designed to be object-oriented and extensible. The contractor will be responsible for: (1) maintaining and modifying the SNAP graphical user interface code in a manner consistent with the current code design and general coding practices for SNAP; (2) maintaining compatibility with the current versions of the SNAP supported analytical codes: TRACE, RELAP5, CONTAIN, MELCOR, FRAPCON and FRAPTRAN; and (3) maintaining and improving the SNAP code documentation and help system to ensure that it is current with the current code capabilities. The period of performance will cover one year and two one-year option years. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The Request for Proposals will be available for download from FedBizOpps on or about December 21, 2005.
