Description
This synopsis is modified to identify the aquisition as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The approximate solicitation issue date is adjusted to 12 December 2005 with the approximate response date adjusted to 13 January 2006. Add numbered note 1. This is for a firm fixed-price acquisition for 35 each Structural Brackets applicable to C-5 aircraft. NSN: 1560-00-496-0657UC; NOUN Structural Bracket; P/N: 4J41178-113E, QTY: Contract will include 2 each First Articles plus 33 each Production Quantity. DIM: 8.0 inches long x 14.0 inches wide x 5.0 inches deep. MATL: PH13-8MO. FUNC: bracket assembly, pivot, inboard, flap number 1; next higher assembly 4J41186-101A. DLVY: First Article due 180 days after contract award. NOTE: This part must be produced from class 1 castings and similar type forgings as approved (controlled) by procedures contained in the current version of MIL-STD-2175. This item is associated with complex manufacturing processes - forging, casting, extrusions, close tolerances, precision machining. The approximate solicitation issue date will be 8 December 2005 with the approximate response date of 11 January 2006. Solicitation will be available for viewing or downloading at www.fedbizopps.gov only. No telephone requests. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered. This acquisition may/does involve technology that has a military or space application. The only US contractors who may participate are those that are certified and registered with DLSC (1-800-352-3572) and have a legitimate business purpose. US contractors must submit a copy of their current, approved DD Form 2345 with their request for password access. To request this certification, write to the Commander, Defense Logistics Services Center, ATTN: DLSC-FEB, Federal Center, Battle Creek, MI 49017-3084 and request a copy of Dept. of Defense Form 2345 or call DLSC at the above number. The data package will be made available to the data custodian identified in block 3 of the DD Form 2345. The extent of foreign participation has not yet been determined. MOU country sources must contact the Contracting Officer within 15 calendar days of the date of this synopsis notice to receive a copy of the solicitation at the time it is initially issued. Issuance of the RFQ will not be delayed to review requests from MOU country sources received after 15 days or from non-MOU country sources. Nothing in this notice contradicts other restrictions, identified in the synopsis notice or solicitation, regarding eligible sources (e.g., if this is a small-business set-aside, foreign sources may not participate as potential prime contractors but could, if otherwise eligible, participate as subcontractors).
