Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for a modification to contract N00024-05-C-2310 to provide for the continuation of DD(X) transition design efforts, initial DD(X) detail design and long lead material procurement for ship construction. This requirement will be solicited from Bath Iron Works, 700 Washington St, Bath, ME 04530. The total transition design, initial detail design and long lead material requirement will be procured, without full and open competition, from the only two qualified sources capable of completing the Flight 1 Class design and building a lead ship. A similar solicitation for the other share of this DD(X) requirement is being issued to the only other source with the capability to meet these requirements, Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, 1000 Access Road, Pascagoula, MS 39568.
