Description
MIDS on Ship (MOS) Systems Production Quantity The U.S. Navy intends to procure on a full and open competitive basis approximately 100 Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) On Ship (MOS) Link 16 Systems for Shipboard, USMC Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) applications to be delivered during 2006-2011 at a rate of 2-3 per month. This notice updates and supplements information provided in the notice posted on 25 October 2005 for the same requirement. A draft RFP and Performance Specification will be available in early January 2005 with approximately 21 days to respond. The planned RFP issue date is in February 2006. Offerors will be provided approximately 45 days to prepare proposals. An Industry Day may be held. Contract award is scheduled for July 2006. Six distinct system configurations will be bought: 1) High-power MOS system for shipboard application; 2) Low-power MOS system for shipboard application; 3) High-power MOS system for shipboard application equipped with commercial crypto; 4) Low-power MOS system for shipboard application equipped with commercial crypto; 5) High-power Link 16 radio terminal set intended for use in non-shipboard applications; 6) Low-power Link 16 radio terminal set intended for use in non-shipboard applications. The scope of this contract will also cover Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), spares, maintenance and repair, documentation, configuration management, and some engineering.
