Description

Small Business sources are sought for production of the M59 Gas Particulate Filter Unit (GPFU), NSN 4240-00-237-0223, P/N 5-19-6699. The filter unit housing contains the main fan, gas filters and particulate filters. Inner and outer access covers p ermit changing of the filters. The airflow valve, attached to the outside of the filter unit housing, controls the airflow between the filter unit, the shelter, and the protective entrance. Pressure-sensing components in the control module automatically a djust the airflow valve to maintain a positive pressure within the vehicle, van, or shelter. The GPFU is currently used on the shelter for the Patriot missile fire control system. It provides up to 400 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of filtered air under po sitive pressure to field shelters, allowing operation in a chemical-biological agent contaminated area. Unit of issue is each (ea). Award of a five year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract is anticipated. The estimated minimum g uaranteed quantity is 5 each. Prospective offerors must submit information (limited to two pages) detailing their past experience in producing similar items and their capability to produce this item.
