Description
The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), along with PM Light Tactical Vehicle (PM-LTV), Warren, Michigan, is conducting a Sources Sought Market Survey in accordance with FAR Part 10. This notice neither constitutes an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or Request for Proposals (RFP) nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. The Product Manager, Light Tactical Vehicles is currently reviewing the feasibility of a new HMMWV Ambulance to fill urgent requirements. The total estimated quantity of ambulances required is approximately 1,300 over a 4 year period. The successful offeror will work with the HMMWV manufacturer to produce an integrated tactical HMMWV ambulance. The purpose of this Market Survey is to ide ntify sources and the availability of applicable lightweight armor materials for the ambulance patient enclosure to integrate onto the M1152P1 HMMWV. The M1152P1 is an interim armor-ready HMMWV that includes air conditioning and an integrated armor packag e consisting of underbody, rocker panel and lower windscreen deflector armor. The P1 designator refers to the add-on armor kit to include doors, windscreen, roof, rear partition and IED overlays, etc. This market survey is being conducted so that we may determine the number of competitive suppliers that can provide the required protection and meet production schedules. Your comments and recommendations are requested since the information gathered in the survey will contribute to the decision as to how we approach the acquisition. Please review and comment on the attached Scope of Work. Any supplemental information or commercial literature describing your company's capabilities in design or production of vehicles or equipment for emergency medical servic e, lightweight armor, engineering, safety, supportability, quality or other information not specifically requested in this Market Survey would also be useful. To assist us, the Army requests the following information from potential sources: 1. General I nformation: a. Company Name b. Address c. Company Web Site 2. Individual completing this questionnaire: a. Name b. Title/Position c. Telephone Number d. E-mail Address 3. How long has your company existed? 4. What supplies and services does you r company primarily manufacture/furnish? 5. Does your company have experience with U.S. Armed Forces special purpose vehicles, specifically tactical vehicles including the HMMWV? 6. Describe your companies experience related to design or production of vehicle armor protection for automotive or defense applications. Include product descriptions, capabilities and performance characteristics. 7. What relevant Government and commercial experience do you have providing engineering services (drawing suppor t, engineering analysis, test support) related to enclosed shelters for special purpose vehicles? Which of those described, include features for emergency medical service? 8. Describe your company's experience and ability to manufacture special purpose mobile enclosed shelters for tactical vehicles? Do any of those shelters include features for emergency medical service? Include specific production capabilities and cite projected expected production capacity. How many years making these items? Does y our company currently sell these or any other products to U.S. Armed Forces customers or other government agencies? 9. Describe each type of customer other than U.S. Armed Forces or other government agencies and what types of items you supply them. 10. Describe how you intend to provide customer support and monitor customer satisfaction and what type of support is available to the customer. 11.
