Description
The Solicitation Number for this project is N40080-05-R-0151. Use this number when locating the subject project on the E-SOL website. The government anticpates the project will be posted to E-SOL, mid-November. PRE-SOLICITATION SYNOPSIS: KING HALL RESTORATION U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY, ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND (DESIGN-BID-BUILD ACQUISITION) The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to award a firm-fixed price contract for construction of (predominantly) interior and roof restoration to King Hall at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. (Plans and specifications have been prepared by the Government). Among other functions, King Hall serves as a galley for Naval Academy midshipmen. The “order of magnitude” of the interior area involved in the “restoration” is “roughly” 5860 square meters (63,000 square feet). Construction will also include some exterior civil site work, utility tie-ins, etc. Work will also involve: substantial roof upgrades; new skylights; vestibules; windows; an interior anchor display; mechanical, electrical, fire protection, telecommunications, and audio visual systems upgrades. Construction will be phased to enable portions of the facility to remain operational during the restoration. The forthcoming solicitation is expected to be unrestricted best value. The Government is expected to begin formal solicitation in mid-November 2005, via E Solicitation; http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. The Government does not wish to receive any questions or responses regarding this “Notice of Intent”, and the Government does not intend to respond to any correspondence that might be submitted. Further instructions and other information will be provided with the forthcoming “formal solicitation”.
