- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking potential sources and product information on the commercial availability of a 5,000 in-lb torque, 2-position, 90-degree rotary type Electromechanical Actuator (EMA) System for submarine ball valve applications. This Request For Information (RFI) is not a solicitation announcement for proposals. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. NAVSEA has three performance specifications applicable to an EMA System for typical ball valve actuation. These specifications address the requirements for the EMA System, Controller, and Motor. The System specification (Navy/EB Specification 4580 titled "EMA System Specification For Typical Valve Actuation") is classified "confidential" because it includes applicable acoustic criteria. Proper vendor security clearances will be required in order to obtain a copy of this specification. Interested parties are requested to provide an email response to this announcement to the point of contact identified below no later than 13 January 2006 requesting a copy of all three specifications. Only companies that have the proper facility clearance should respond. Responses must include the applicable vendors Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code and a 1 - 2 page statement of company qualifications and experience. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. This request for information is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command.
