- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for (3) three Flow Control Valves. The difference in the (3) three valves is the flow Capacity which is notated in the specifications below: Valve Specifications: 3 Valves required, identical except for Flow Capacity Valve Type: Flow Control Service: Gaseous Hydrogen Rated Operating Pressure: ANSI Class 1500 At elevated temperature: > 1200 PSIG at 1100 deg F Body Style: Split body, globe, reciprocating Body Material: 316 stainless steel Bonnet Type: Extended Bonnet Material: 316 stainless steel Bonnet Bushing: Removable Flow Direction: Flow to open Flow Capacity: - one valve with Cv = 2.5 2nd valve with Cv = 4.8 3rd valve with Cv = 7.6 Plug Design: Unbalanced Plug Contour: Linear Stem & Plug Material: 316 stainless steel Stem Guide Material: Stellite Seat Design: Replaceable Seat Ring Material: 316 stainless steel Leakage Class: ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class IV or better End Connections: MS33649 Female End Connection Size: 1? Actuator type: Positioning pneumatic cylinder Actuator supply pressure: 100 PSIG Actuator action: Air to open, fail closed Positioner style: Integral to actuator Positioner type: Pneumatic Positioner input signal: 3 ? 15 psig Positioner action: Direct Positioner characteristic: Linear Positioner operating range: 0 to 100% of valve Cv General Note: Wetted parts made of 17-4 steel are NOT allowed This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than December 29, 2005.(Prospective quoters shall notify this office of their intent to submit a quotation. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
