Description

Notice of intent to award as a sole source by the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection has a requirement to award as sole source to Thermo Electron Corporation, Scientific Instruments Corp, 5225 Verona Rd., Madison, WI 53711 for Nicolet 6700 FT-IR Spectrometer with Continuum IR Microscope under the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule Contracts. The system is not entirely available on the GSA contract, components within the system are considered to be open market sole source over $25,000.00. This proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.203. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received by the closing date and time will be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any vendor who believes that they can provide the open market components and can provide proof that they are capable of supplying the necessary components required for the Nicolet 6700 FT_IR Spectrometer with Continuum IR Microscope should e-mail their company?s capabilities and information to the attention of Sonja Robinson by 12:00 PM (noon) EST, December 22, 2005 at Sonja.Robinson@dhs.gov.
