Description: This project is located in Meade County, 6 miles south of Sturgis, South Dakota. Previous treatment on this project included whole tree yarded commercial removal and pre-commercial thinning. The pre-commercial thinning was then hand piled in a subsequent contract. The project consists of 257 acres and is located primarily in Township 004N, Range 005E, Sections 4, 5, 8, and 9; Township 005N, Range 005E Section 33. The primary objective of this contract is to remove created hand piles by disposing of piles on site. Chipping, mulching, or masticating hand piles was selected because the lack of snow in this area makes removal of piles by burning difficult to achieve. Numbered Notes: 1
