Description
The VA Western New York Healthcare System (VAWNYHS), Buffalo, NY intends to award a contract for A/E Services for WARD 5C PRIVACY RENOVATIONS. THIS ACQUISITION IS GEOGRAPHICALLY LIMITED TO FIRMS LOCATED WITHIN A 30-MILE RADIUS OF THE VAWNYHS ? BUFFALO, NY and is unrestricted competition as prescribed by the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The North American Industry Classification System code is 541310 and the numerical size standard is 4.0 million. Award is subject to the availability of funds. Pertinent factors for consideration of qualifications for the Project Team, listed in order of importance are: (1) specialized experience and technical competence of the firm (including a joint venture or association) with the type of service required, (2) specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project, and record of working together as a team (3) capacity of the firm to perform work within the time limitations (4) past record of performance on VAWNYHS contracts (5) geographic location and facilities of the working office(s) which would provide the professional services and familiarity with the area in which the project is located. Work includes but is not limited to: Preliminary Study, Investigative Services, consultation/meetings/discussions with staff to establish specific program requirements, Pt. I Services (preparation of working drawings, specifications and cost estimate) with an option to award Parts II & III Services (performance of construction period services and site visits). The work entails providing private patient rooms to include bathroom & shower for female patients on Ward 5C, as well as providing bathrooms for all multi-bed rooms. Upon completion, Ward 5C will also include a renovated/expanded 6-bed step-down unit. Total number of beds will be maximized based on selected scheme. The Nurse station will be renovated for improved patient observation. The design shall include the following overview of requirements, which may be expanded: 1. Patient bedroom w/bathroom & shower, 2. Nurse call system, 3. Medical Gases, 4. Offices and conference room(s), 5. Quick Response Sprinkler Heads, 6. Voice/Data, 7. Ventilation and Air Conditioning, 8. Plumbing, new hot water radiators, 9. Electrical, 10. General construction/finishes. Construction is between $1,000,000. and $5,000,000. All interested parties are required to submit qualifications to the Contracting Officer on Standard Form 330. Submit two copies of SF 330 to the above referenced address and include the routing symbol (90NCA). Please ensure that all required information is submitted and accurate. Firms should include all relevant information regarding past projects designed, which are similar in type to this project. All responses are to be received by the Contracting Officer no later than 3:30p.m. on January 4, 2006.
