Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Acquisition Center, has a requirement for RESTRAINTS (All types). INTENDED USE: For medical purposes and that limits the patient’s movements to the extent necessary for treatment, examination, or protection of the patient or others. This item will be procured under a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. All offerors shall be required to submit product samples and product literature by the solicitation closing date. The contract period will be for a base period of one year plus four one-year option periods. Estimated annual quantities are “Soft Restraints” Soft limb holders, 56,423 pair; Mitts, hand control, 3460 pair; Vests, 4,888 each; Jackets, 340 each, Security suit, 38 each; Belts: Gait belt Therapy aid, 5,244 each; Walking belt, Therapy aid, 115 each; Roll belts for beds, 565 each; Belts for chair or bed, 15 each; Belts for chair or wheelchair, 828 each. Behavioral Restraints consisting of Cuffs, 445 each; Cuff liners, 77 each and Connecting straps, 119 ach. Technical Specifications 1. Ease of application. 2. Washable 3. Disposable. 4. Instructions on item/box. 5. Durable fabric. 6. Durable construction. 7. Patient comfort. 8. Quick release (both knot and device). 9. Full line: Vest, Limb, Belts: Wheelchair, Bed. If offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the Small Business manufacturer must be submitted by the offeror with offer guaranteeing the solicitation quantities from the Small Business manufacturer for the base and four option periods. The end product furnished must be manufactured or produced in the United States or its outlying areas. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. The Request for Proposal solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of September 6, 2005 at the following URL: http://vaww1.va.gov/OAMM/busopp/sols.htm Offers on 797-NC-05-0062 will be due by 4:00 P.M.
