- LINE DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLY QTY 0001 Kevlar Combat Helmets (Level IIIA) 11,891 Green or Woodland Camouflage with Chin Strap *** Helmets MUST meet NIJ Level IIIA specifications IAW NIJ Standard 0106.01 and meet MIL-STD-662E requirements. NIJ Approved Laboratory V50 testing certificates documenting NIJ Level IIIA compliance must be submitted with proposals. ANY OFFEROR WHO FAILS TO MEET SPECIFICATIONS OR PROVIDE COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTATION WILL BE DEEMED UNRESPONSIVE AND REMOVED FROM FURTHER CONSIDERATION. Solicitation will be posted to FBO on 16 Dec 05. All quotes should be submitted to robert.brooks@pco-iraq.net Preferred method of submission is email attachment. Unable to receive faxes. Q: Do you require a PASGT or PASCUT (MICH) style helmet. Please see the attached spec sheets. Do you require a 3 point or 4 point suspension system? Do you require pads, or will a crown mesh with cross straps be sufficient. What colour should the helmet shells be? Can they be black with black webbing? What fabric should the helmet covers be made from. Is polycotton ok? What colour green should we use? Will payment be made before the helmets are shipped? A: PASGT (Ground Troop) Helmet is what were require. Suspension system should be equivalent to non-ACH (old style) U.S. helmet. Crown mesh with cross straps is sufficient (again, equivalent to non-ACH U.S. helmet) Color should be Olive Drab (Army Green) or Black ? either is acceptable, but would prefer the entire order to be the same color. Cover from polycotton is acceptable. The cover should be in the same pattern and shades as the U.S. Woodland Camo battle dress uniform. Payment made upon formal acceptance by the DCMA QAR. Q: In reference to the above subject solicitation for Kevlar combat helmets, I would appreciate it if you could clarify if Line Item 0003 ?Chin Straps? refers to an additional 11,891 spare chin straps? A: No, they are not additional?they are to accompany the helmets?
