- Description
- 1. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (hereinafter referred to as, “USPTO”) utilizing the guiding principles stated in FAR Part 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items.” Furthermore, “ This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional informaton included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written notice will not be issued.” 2. USPTO intends to award a commercial item (s) contract to Siebel Systems, Incorporated located in Reston, Virginia. The procurement is for proprietary Applications Software and Computer Packages. NAICS code 511210. SIC Code 7372. This procurement is a succession to a previous commercial items contract awarded to Siebel Systems, Incorporated. The award to Siebel Systems, Incorporated will occur on Thursday, December 19, 2005. The Contracting Officer has conducted market research for distributors of Siebel Systems, Incorporated products. The Contracting Officer has determined the prices to be fair and reasonable based on commercial catalogs and independent price analysis. In the event this award is contested by another commercial entity the procedures in paragraph 3 will apply. 3. This procurement will be awarded utilizing the guiding principles of FAR Part 13.5 “Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.” A formal request for quotations (RFQ) will not be issued. Based on efficiency and effective use of electronic communications, the Contracting Officer shall request verbal quotes only. 4. Anticipated Contract Award Date: December 29, 2005 5.
