Description

1. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) utilizingthe guiding principles stated in FAR Part 12.6 Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, this is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplememnted with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written notice will not be issued. 2. USPTO intends to award a commercial item contract to PrimeRecognition Corporation in Woodinville, WA 98077. The procurement is for proprietary Applications Software, PrimeOCR InputACcel and maintenance. NAIC Code 511210. SIC Coder 7372. This procurement is a succession to a previous commercial item contract awarded to PrimeOCR. The Contracting Officer has determined the prices to be fair and reasonable based on commercial catalogs and indepedent price analysis. In the event this award is contested by another commercial entity the procuedures in para. 3 will apply. 3. This procurement will be awarded utilized the guiding principles of FAR Pare 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. A formal request for quotations (RFQ) will not be issued. Based on efficiency and effective use of electronic communications, the Contracting Officer shall request verbal quotes only. 4. Anticipated award date January 2, 2006.
