Description

17. Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Geocomp Corporation, 1145 Massachusetts Avenue, Boxborough, MA 01719. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Geocomp Corporation is the only provider of Plaxis Suite of Soil Structure Interaction (SSI) computer programs, which investiga te how individual section of the floodwall and levee system respond to the computed forces to better understand failure mechanisms and to explain the evidence observed in the field. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. I nterested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 1530 hrs Central Time Zone on 30-Dec-2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely withi n the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
